Basketball Off Season

The basketball off season starts soon after spring football and about month after the basketball season. Basketball off season is similar to off season for football, the main focus is making improvements to your game and your body. The basketball team lifts four days a week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. I personally like having Wednesdays off. Football has the same schedule in the summer time. Along with weights the team will normally organize pick up after weights on Mondays. Tuesdays there is skilled work and weights following. There are all sorts of rules regarding the amount of hours a week coaches can actually work with the players. So we have skill work twice a week, Thursdays are the other day of the week. Skill work is exactly how it sounds; we work on ball handling, shooting, passing, footwork for different things and end it with guard specific work and post player specific work. Football Off season

There are two, what you could call, off seasons for football. The first off season is winter break, unfortunately I am playing basketball during that time so that one does not apply to me. Once winter break is over the team starts morning conditioning and weights up until spring football. So the winter off season goes from the end of the football season to the end of winter break. The main off season I am a part of is the one that starts ofter spring football is over. I will talk more about spring ball in another post. It starts after spring ball and goes all the way up to the beginning of fall camp in August, so basically the summer time. Weights and conditioning is a big part of the summer for football. The team runs on the field at 6:10 in the morning and then directly after go to the weight room to lift. The is the schedule four days a week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
