Football Game Day

Saturday people say are for the boys, but during the fall Saturday is for football.

Waking up on game day is always a great feeling. To start the day we have a big pre game meal. Depending on when the game is supposed to start depends on the time the meal starts. Before anyone starts getting food we have a short talk and prayer. Seniors get to get food first and then juniors, sophomores, and freshman. While the whole team is still in the room we go over last minute game plans for the offense and then position coaches talk to there positions.

After the meal everyone has time to get mentally prepared or do whatever they need to do to get ready. An hour before we had out for warm ups most of the skill position players and the quarterbacks go to the field to throw. I like to use this time to get a feel for the weather and seeing and catching the ball.

Once leaving the field I get dressed and ready for the game. The first group to head out is specialist, kick returners, kickers, long snappers, along with quarterbacks and a most of the receivers to catch for them as they warm up. Once the rest of the team gets out to the field we stretch as a team. After the stretch we split up into offense individual and then meet up with the defense for a short team segment. I am not sure what the defense does before the team segment because I play offense.

After the warm up it is game time. The nerves and feelings before a game are like nothing else.

  1. I think it is really cool! What kind of meal do you usually have before the game?
