Basketball Road Trip
Last week I posted about what most weeks look like during football season. This weeks post is about what the two road trips I went on during this basketball season.
One big difference between football and basketball is that football plays one game a week, normally on Saturday. Basketball plays two games a week once conference play starts. For both of the road trips there was a game on a Thursday and the second game was on a Saturday.
We started the road trips on a Wednesday with a bus ride. Arriving at the hotel that night. Thursday starts with breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast we have a little time to get our workout gear to head to shoot around. At shoot around we run through our offensive sets and get shots up. At the end of shoot around we go over the other teams scouting report, which is some of there offensive sets and player tendencies. Next we have our pregame meal which varies depending on where we are and what is available. That night is game time!
We stay in the same hotel Thursday night and get breakfast Friday morning. After breakfast we travel to the next town for practice. Once practice is over we get food and then go to the hotel where we have the rest of the day off. Normally that time is used to catch up on school work. We have dinner that night and then back to the hotel. Saturday morning looks almost identical to Thursday. Wake up and eat breakfast, go to shoot around, get our pregame meal, and then game time! After the game instead of going back to the hotel we head back to Topeka.
Both road trips have been extremely fun because it is just the team and a good time. I am blessed to have amazing teammates to make the everything we have to do on a road trip better.
